Halving Cycle Context
Bitcoin's price history follows a roughly four-year rhythm anchored to the block-subsidy halving. Comparing years side-by-side highlights the post-halving expansion phases and the bear-market resets.
- 1st Halving: 2012-11-28
- 2nd Halving: 2016-07-09
- 3rd Halving: 2020-05-11
- 4th Halving: 2024-04-20
Reading tip: each post-halving year (2013, 2017, 2021, 2025) tends to produce the cycle's most aggressive expansion. The year before a halving (2015, 2019, 2023) often forms the cycle low.
